Lots of food for the money. Typical Mexican food. Nothing spectacular but not yucky either. I'd eat at this place again.

Came in for lunch and again, La Presa in AIrway Heights, did not disappoint me and why it is my favorite Mexican food in the area. Love their salsa! I ordered a super burrito, shredded beef, and it filled the plate. I especially appreciated that the meat wasn't over seasoned or salty while had a good authentic flavor. Being as I like a little heat, I added a bit of their salsa, I recognize that most customers can't handle the heat so it was't a deal breaker. My lunch partner ordered a combo plate with a tamale on it and I tasted the masa and it had good texture and taste. La Presa is what it is. A small local business serving tasty authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price. Service is good and worth the try.

I get dragged to this place quite a bit to eat with friends and co-workers. I really don't understand why people like this place so much. I'll admit, I'm a Mexican food snob, so my review may be a bit biased. Anyways, the service is great, prices are reasonable, food is edible. But the ground beef is just that, ground beef. Shredded chicken is a bit dry and bland. They smother everything in sauce, and the sauce isn't even that great. Had fish tacos, thinking they'd be a treat, and they completely drenched the 3 tacos in a white sauce, completely killing the flavor of the fish. If I had guests in town, many other places I'd rather take them. On the upside, service is quick, fajitas are good (my go-to when I have to come here), and the staff is very friendly.

Not bad, not great. Would have given 3.5 stars if allowed. Selection of jarritos was the largest I've seen. Chile verde burrito was good, would order again. Agree that the salsa is great and spicy hot. Cheese dip is horrible, the consistency of nacho cheese from a can. Beans did taste watered down. Chips were good. Service was fast. Margarita was tasty and not too watered down. Follow up. I have now been here three times. Beans haven't been overly consistent, and were much better the second two times. Still, this place is just two expensive. My wife and I had the chile verde burrito, an order of fajitas, guacamole, a Juaritos soda, and split a large margarita. The bill came to 59 dollars before tip or 70 dollars after tip. Much better food in an improved atmosphere can be found for 35 a head.

We are visiting from California and were looking for some good Mexican food. Tried this place because of the good reviews. The food was very good! The salsa was tasty, a little too spicy, but good. I got the 3 taco meal, which was a lot of food for the money! We will definitely be back before heading home!

Best Mexican food I've had since I left Texas 12 years ago. The portions are Hugh and the price is low. We will be going back soon.

Best Mexican food in the area! This place is the real deal....authentic and yummy Mexican food at affordable prices. The service is great and the atmosphere is festive and cheerful. The first time I went to this place was with a friend and we both ordered margaritas--which were delicious and HUGE. The food portion sizes are generous and everything I've ordered there is delicious. Their chips and salsa are fresh and taste great. On my last visit I ordered a chicken chimichanga and was very impressed, it was everything a good chimichanga should be. I highly recommend an order of their guacamole as well. Give them a try--you will not be disappointed!

II and my Army buddies came into this restaurant after we could not get into the Thai Restaurant that was up the street because it was closed. Anyway we came in during the lunch hour on a Sat and there was another group in the place, but we were seated very quickly. The service was excellent and the portions of the meal were as large as basketball. I did notice that the food was fresh but it was a little intuitional. I also notice that the use of the microwave was used to heat of the food, I really do not like that. However it seems as if the meal was prepared just for us and being as hungry as we were the food was good and quick. I had the number 16 and it was a little skimpy on the beans, were the beans were spread out on the plate to look like you had a lot and were a little watered down. The rice was not hot and it seemed to have cold spot in it when I tok a bit, (microwave) Although the food was good not perfect but for a quick lunch time meal, for about 11 bucks not including taxes and tip, it was OK.

I had the Jaiba Chimichanga, it was very good, the portions were adequate, attentive staff. The Flan was average ( De Leon has the best in town). by the way the name is all wrong! La Presa means " the Catch" or " Prey". It should be "La Represa" "The Dam"

This is absolutely one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I always get the huevos racheros and it is incredible every time. It comes with a generous serving of rice/beans. This place has some of the best salsa - not for the faint of heart because it is quite spicy (Love it!!). You do want to be careful when ordering the large margarita...even though we've been there numerous times we had never ordered the largest one until our last visit. It is very expensive, around $14, and sadly was lacking in alcohol. We didn't ask the price in advance so that was on us. Usually the margaritas have some alcohol, and you can tell that it's there. Not sure what happened with our last visit. Lesson learned and we will stick to the smaller margaritas, we don't go there for that anyway. The food is what keeps us coming back.

Ordered takeout today, 2 burrito's with chicken. Received something resembling a slightly bigger taco bell burrito. Whatever the meat was it was definitely not chicken (in either burritos). I asked them to wrap the burrito in foil to eat on the go, it was given on plate covered in foil (loosely wrapped in an improperly cooked tortilla). This was such a poorly made burrito it actually made me mad. The only thing that was served right was the Jarrito. Never stepping foot into this place or recommending it to anyone.

A tad shady from the outside but inside has a good cantina feel to it. Was busy for lunch but seated quickly and servers were attentive. Warm chips and the salsa... the salsa is spicy, tasty but even the mild is spicy. I had the enchiladas with shredded beef and they were good. The meat was nicely seasoned and the red sauce has flavor. My friend had the vegetarian smothered burrito and that looked good too. I would rate it above any chain Mexican restaurant in the area. Located on the west side of Airway Heights. Tidbit #1 Seems like a popular lunch destination for Air Force personnel. Tidbit #2 Will sing Happy Birthday in both English and Spanish. Tidbit #3 Sign in restaurant offers 5% discount for bills over $30 if you pay in cash.

Good food but not great, when my table asked for cabbage salsa/ slaw, they did not have it, but their chips and dip is complement. salsa a bit bland as well, just spice and tomatoe flavored. Service varies, some servers where nice some are really "silently angry" or something. Odd. Food came quickly but service wasn't. Our glasses where not filled up promptly and it took quite some time to get our tickets.

Ate here tonight and was delighted by the super spicy salsa; i ended up putting it on my dinner entree too. $2.75 for a soft drink is a little steep but the food was worth it. Dinner combos were all 12.something. My wife and I out the door was $32. Pretty good, and will be back. This beat Tres Fiesta, sorry Tres...

Fast Service. Great food. Good prices. I wish they were opened on Sundays, but I understand why they're not. Every time I eat here I am seated right away, my food comes out quickly, and I never have to flag down a waiter for the bill, refill or anything because they're always on it! Carna Asada is the best. They always give you plenty to eat.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
